Yoann Gouffran has hit out at David Ginola over his criticism of Newcastle United's French players.

Former Toon favourite Ginola sparked controversy last week by saying his countrymen would all leave a sinking ship.

Gouffran said: "I don't know if the squad will stay together. But we're not thinking about going down.

"The manager has talked to us about the implications of relegation. All we can do is beat QPR and try to beat Arsenal in the final game, then start next season in a positive manner.

"We're not nervous about the game with QPR. We'll treat it like a cup final.

"And we'll be better and stronger for this experience next year in the Premier League.

"We'll know how to approach games and avoid silly mistakes."
