Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is chasing Newcastle United winger Damien Duff.

The People says McCarthy knows his newly-promoted side needs some experienced pros brought in to help in their survival fight.

And Duff is top of his summer shopping list, along with Liverpool veteran Sami Hyypia.

Duff, 30, has struggled since joining Newcastle from Chelsea for £6million in 2006.

McCarthy knows Duff well from his is six years in charge of the Republic of Ireland and would love him at Molineux.

However, Duff would have to take a significant pay cut on his £60,000-aweek Toon wages if he wanted to move.
