Newcastle winger Ameobi opens Cardiff account

Sammy Ameobi opened his goalscoring account for loan club Cardiff City in the Bluebirds' 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

The Newcastle United loanee replaced the scorer of Cardiff's opening goal, Kenwyne Jones, in the 57th minute of the contest.

The 23-year-old wasted no time putting his own name on the scoresheet, finding the back of the net just three minutes after taking the field to double the Cardiff's lead.

Ameobi also impressed with some fancy footwork, which ended with the Nigerian firing a shot just wide of the goal.

Following the match, Ameobi posted a photo of him celebrating his first goal for the Bluebirds on Instagram.

Thank you Jesus...hopefully first of many! #bluebirds
