Newcastle United are eyeing Bournemouth striker Josh King.

The Sun says Newcastle and Bournemouth have opened discussions about a potential swap deal for Magpies winger Matt Ritchie and Cherries forward King.

Bournemouth could ask Newcastle to send Ritchie back to Dean Court, as well as pay cash, in order to lure King to Tyneside - rather than pay the full £20million asking price.

Rafa Benitez has made signing a striker his top priority this summer, but even so this rumour needs to be approached with some healthy scepticism.

After all, Ritchie is a senior member of the Newcastle squad and made 32 Premier League starts last season, scoring two goals and providing five assists.
