Bolton Wanderers are anxious to get Abdoulaye Faye's signature on a new three-year contract.
The Daily Mail says Newcastle and Wigan are among several clubs trying to tempt Faye away from Bolton before the Senegal defender signs his new three-year deal at the Reebok.
Faye has agreed terms but former Bolton boss Sam Allardyce and Wigan manager Chris Hutchings are in the hunt.
