VfL Wolfsburg pair Sebastian Jung and Robin Knoche are being watched by Newcastle Unietd.
The Evening Chronicle says Toon had scouts posted to see Wolfsburg in action against VfB Stuttgart. The subject of their attention were Jung and Knoche.
Fullback Jung was linked with Arsenal last season and only joined VfL in the summer from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Germany U21 centre-half Knoche has spent his entire career with Wolfsburg and is contracted until 2017.
"People can dream," Knoche recently said. "Real Madrid and Manchester United are my ultimate goals. Though it's unrealistic at this time."
