Newcastle United are interested in SC Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason.
The Sunday Express says Newcastle scouts were spotted at SC Heerenveen's recent clash with Vitesse Arnhem, which suggests the club have not given up on Finnbogason after chasing the player in the summer.
The Icelander came close to joining Fulham in January.
