FC Twente striker Luc Castaignos is being tracked by Newcastle United.
The Journal says United are understood to have dispatched scouts to watch France and Holland's under-21 sides during the week, with Twente striker Castaignos one of the players under scrutiny.
The 6ft 2ins Dutch forward has hit five goals already in the Eredivisie and has been a long-term Newcastle target - right back to when he signed for Inter Milan.
