Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor is eager to prove people wrong after recovering from his long-term injury.
The 30-year-old made his long-awaited comeback for the Magpies in the 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday in what was his first appearances since the goalless draw against Manchester United in August.
Taylor put in a solid defensive performance to dispel suggestions that his days in top-flight football are over.
"When you're not playing, you're always going to be written off but I get on with it and like to prove people wrong," he said.
"I've done that in all my years here. I play with my heart and soul and graft.
"You've got to be hungry and I've been dying to get out there for ages and I'm absolutely loving it.
"You get highs and lows but I rise above that and never sulk. That game felt good, Everything about it. I felt a million dollars."
