Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce is set to land Bolton Wanderers midfielder Abdoulaye Faye.

The Daily Mail says Bolton do not want to sell Faye to Allardyce but Newcastle's offer is the best so far for the 29-year-old Senegalese, whose contract is up next season. New boss Sammy Lee has brought in cover by completing a £1m deal for Portsmouth's Andy O'Brien.
