Newcastle United have handed trials to non-league star Jason Prior.
The Bognor Regis striker has been handed the chance to earn a deal at the Barclays Premier League side, says the Daily Mail.
Boss Alan Pardew, who has claimed they will not bring in a new forward despite Demba Ba's imminent departure to the African Cup of Nations, has been impressed by Prior's incredible goalscoring streak.
The 23-year-old has scored close to 100 goals in just two-and-a-half seasons at the Ryman South club.
He was expected to join Blue Square South side Eastleigh in January but that deal has now been put on hold with interest from the top-flight giants.
Prior is now set to travel to the north-east next week in a bid to show he can mix it with the big boys.
