Newcastle United have been warned off PSV Eindhoven fullback Erik Pieters.

PSV Eindhoven's £6mrated full-back is still on Newcastle's radar after a failed summer raid for the highly-rated 23-year-old.

But with PSV second in the Dutch league, their sporting director Marcel Brands insisted: "We won't sell in the winter, so I don't expect anything to happen.

"Pieters will be fit again in February and we look forward to having him back playing for us.

"We're not looking to sell any players at all because we're in the race for the title."
