They are keen on Wolves striker Benik Afobe and Steve McClaren will once again push the case for Charlie Austin, the QPR striker.

Newcastle have watched German and Spanish games in recent weeks and are keen on adding a striker AND centre-back in the window, with Fabricio Coloccini's form understood to be troubling McClaren – who has been shocked by the scale of the confidence issues at the club.
