Newcastle United have joined the battle for Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady.

McGeady is a Bosman target for Everton, which hope to secure him to a pre-contract next month.

The Daily Mail says Toon chiefs Alan Pardew and Joe Kinnear are also very keen and may even strike a deal for January rather than the summer.
