Watford defender Adrian Mariappa is unsettled at Vicarage Road.
The Mirror says Newcastle United target Mariappa has dismissed Watford's £800-a week pay-rise offer - after the club labelled a £2million bid for him from the Magpies "insulting".
The bitter battle for the Hornets' talented captain and defender has seen boss Sean Dyche reject Newcastle's latest proposal - an increase on a bid of £750,000 - out of hand.
The terms of the new, four-year deal have been rejected by the 25-year-old, who has just 18 months left on his contract.
