French club Olympique Lyon have confirmed that Alexandre Lacazette has signed a new contract.
The 23-year old forward, who was a target for Newcastle United in the summer, has penned a two-year extension with Lyon which will keep him at Stade de Gerland until the summer of 2018.
Lacazette, who has been with Lyon since joining the youth academy in 2003, told the club's official website that he was delighted to have committed to the cause.
He said: "It's a great moment.
"It is a sign of confidence from the club. Now, we can stop talking about that."
Lacazette made his Lyon debut in 2010 and has gone on to score 42 goals in 154 appearances for Les Gones.
