Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew intends to buy a top line defender in the summer.

United have targeted a second-tier star for this month's transfer market.

And the Sunday Sun says United will look to sign ANOTHER defender in the summer - with FC Twente's Douglas, Ajax captain Jan Vertonghen and Montpellier youngster Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa all on their hit-list.
