FC Twente striker Luuk de Jong is set to join German club Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 21-year old Swiss-born Holland international was a key target for Newcastle United but it seems the Magpies will miss out after he passed a medical over the weekend.
There were issues regarding the transfer fee last week with Gladbach not meeting Twente's asking price of £15.7million but it is believed that a deal will be struck this week.
