Newcastle Jets and Sydney FC will meet in a pre-season match in Hastings in mid-July.

The Jets have forged a good relationship with mid-north coast supporters in recent times and though it would be a good idea to take a match there for the fans.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council General Manager Andrew Roach said it was a great chance for the local community.

"Announcing another A League game for the Hastings is a pleasure as it really vindicates our investment in the regional stadium as a premium sporting venue," said Mr Roach.
