Newcastle United have tabled a bid for MK Dons midfielder Dele Alli.
The Daily Star says the Dons star, 18, has been in impressive form this season and has attracted interest from numerous English clubs.
According to reports, Premier League big boys Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in signing the box-to-box midfielder, who has been dubbed the new Steven Gerrard.
But sources claim Newcastle are currently leading the race for the midfielder, who has scored 11 goals in 28 appearances this season, and have tabled a bid in region of £9m.
Toon caretaker boss John Carver is reportedly a big admirer of the youngster, and is keen to lure him to St James' Park this month.
