Dutch sensation Adam Maher is being flowed by Newcastle United and Sunderland.
The Sunday Mirror says the Tyne-Wear rivals know they will face strong competition for the 19-year-old AZ Alkmaar attacking midfielder as a host of top clubs are also on his trail.
Moroccan-born Maher, who has opted to play for Holland, is expected to leave for the Premier League either in January or next summer.
Sunderland, Newcastle and Chelsea were all represented in Tilburg nine days ago to run the rule over Maher, who starred in the Holland Under-21 side's 4-1 win over Austria.
And Manchester City are also showing interest in a player who was voted Dutch Young Player of the Year last season.
