Newcastle United and Sunderland are making deadline day bids for Tottenham striker Darren Bent.
The Mirror says Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear and Sunderland manager Ricky Sbragia have both made late inquiries for the unsettled Tottenham attacker.
But Bent, a £16million signing from Charlton 18 months ago, fancies a move to Everton.
However, boss David Moyes doesn't have the cash to finance a deal now and Tottenham want around £9m. Moyes made an inquiry last week to take Bent on loan to Goodison until the end of the season with a view to a permanent move in the summer.
