Newcastle United are struggling to find takers for Michael Owen.
The People says the Magpies are prepared to cut their losses after just 21 games in two-and-a-half years from the 28-year-old.
Owen is set to return against Derby next week after once more picking up an injury when on international duty.
Newcastle will accept a cut-price £8m but the player's recent injury record is scaring off England's big four.
Owen's salary - £105,000- a-week - is also hindering any hopes of finding the forward a new club.
