Newcastle United centre-forward Nile Ranger will face separate hearings on assault charges and for allegedly being drunk and disorderly.

The 20-year-old will face assault charges at Newcastle Crown Court on February 27, following a brief hearing at Newcastle Magistrates' Court.

His drunk and disorderly case was adjourned to be back before the magistrates for trial on March 21.

The north London-born footballer, who lives in Forest Hall, North Tyneside, was bailed on condition he stays outside central Newcastle's "parking meter zone between 9pm and 7am", the court heard.
