Newcastle United striker Luuk de Jong is eyeing a late run for Holland's World Cup squad.
The on-loan Borussia Monchengladbach forward has an outside chance of making it to the World Cup finals in Brazil. But he faces a fight having lost his form due to being frozen out in the Bundesliga.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "That is in my head a little bit. My first target is to play games for my club which is Newcastle now.
"I want to be on the pitch, score goals and be an important part of the team. If that goes well, there is a chance I could go to the World Cup.
"But at the moment I am looking to just play football again because the last half-year has not been nice."
