Andy Carroll hopes his hat-trick for Newcastle United's reserves in their 5-0 thumping of Middlesbrough will have caught the eye of new gaffer Kevin Keegan.
"Goals can only help you do that. The manager wasn't there last night, but hopefully he will hear about it.
"Last year when I played against Middlesbrough I got a hat-trick in the same fixture and a few people said before the game I would do it again.
"Thankfully that happened. And coming in a derby game makes it even more special."
