Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll was delighted to see action in their 0-0 draw with FA Cup opponents Hull City.
"It was great to go into the meeting before the game and then realising I was in the starting line-up," Carroll told the Evening Chronicle. "To get my first start of the season is great for me.
"It's great to play with Michael Owen.
"Even in training I still have to pinch myself a bit."
Big Andy added: "I was pleased with it. I had a few chances early on and the keeper did well to save a couple of them.
"I was always there to get on the end of things. Back at St James's Park we should beat them."
