Newcastle striker Campbell disappointed with Carlisle spell

Newcastle United striker Adam Campbell admits his loan spell at Carlisle United was a flop.

Campbell saw it cut short after making just one appearance.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "I went there for game time.

"Circumstances did not allow me to. I am back at Newcastle now. I want to kick on and try to get some game time.

"I don't know all the ins and outs at Carlisle. I am just moving on from that now.

"It was good to get out there and be playing again for Newcastle.

"To play at St James' Park you cannot really go wrong. It is a great pitch and a great stadium and where you dream of playing."
