Newcastle striker Campbell delighted with Gateshead chance

Newcastle United striker Adam Campbell is pleased with his loan move to Gateshead.

Heed boss Gary Mills has quickly got Campbell under his wing and he responded with a two goal display against Nuneaton.

Campbell said after the game, which Gateshead won 2-0: "I was hemming and hawing about making the move, but I just thought, 'I want to play games week in, week out'.

"I haven't been doing that for two years now.

"The manager rang me, and told me I'd enjoy it if I came to Gateshead - I'd be playing games, I'd be scoring goals, and I'd be playing with a smile on my face.

"And that was it, really.

"Being in and out of teams in the past, I haven't enjoyed it as much - and I haven't been settled.

"But I've found a place where I feel happy, and I can enjoy my football again."
