Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi will be available after the international break.

Ameobi's shoulder injury has responded well to treatment.

"Shola's had a good week with the fitness guys. We could have thrown him back into training but we thought it'd be better to give him a good base," said Toon No2 John Carver.

"He's had a solid week. He'll be back with the group on Monday for the build up to Spurs."
