Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is unsure of his future at parent club Newcastle United.
The Cottagers take on Aston Villa at Wembley in the Championship play-off final on Saturday, when they will have a one-off opportunity to clinch a lucrative spot in the Premier League for next season.
If they do, then the Cottagers will likely use some of the £120million-plus windfall to try and sign Mitrovic permanently this summer.
“I've loved my time here and I don't know what's going to happen after. But why not stay? Maybe," Mitrovic told Sky Sports.
“I want to focus on the game on Saturday, then I have time to rest and focus on the World Cup.
“I needed the gametime so that's why I came here. I needed to be on the pitch, to score goals and to have the feeling that I have now.
“I needed to get confidence - especially because of the World Cup, but also because of myself.
“I feel good and honestly I have never been in better shape in the whole of my career."
