Newcastle still well in danger zone - Butt

Despite bridging a gap on teams below them in the relegation battle, Newcastle United are still in danger according to skipper Nicky Butt.

"We've got a bit of a gap now but that can be a false sense of security," Butt told the club's official website.

"Any one of ten teams can struggle if they lose one or two. On the flip side of that if you win or two you can get out of it quite quickly.

"But we have to try to stay unbeaten because as long as you do that you're adding to the points total.

"Psychologically as well there's a huge difference between a defeat and a draw.

"We have got some big games coming up and we need to be strong at home.

"Too many times this season we have dropped points at home and we need to change that.

"In-between those games against the bigger teams we'll be looking to take points away from home and start beating the teams we know we are capable of beating.

"It's a difficult situation that we are in but we need to stick together."
