Newcastle United are still haggling with FC Twente for defender Douglas.
The Journal says although weekend reports suggested a £5m bid for Douglas has been accepted, negotiations to land the Brazilian-born centre-back are still some way off completion.
Toon officials were in Holland over the weekend for talks with Twente.
