Newcastle United are stepping up their bid for Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair.

The Mirror says his City future looks uncertain after managing only 14 appearances last term following a summer move from Swansea.

The 24-year-old - who has been linked with Aston Villa and Midlands neighbours West Brom - may be given a fresh start at City under new manager Manuel Pellegrini, but a move to Newcastle is likely to bring him more regular football.
