Newcastle United are standing by manager Steve McClaren.

The Evening Chronicle says there has been no panic at United despite the nature of the 3-0 loss to Leicester City.

Indeed, it was business as usual for Newcastle at their Tyneside HQ as managing director Lee Charnley took his place in the stand to watch the Under-21s play out a 0-0 draw with West Brom.

And McClaren was boosted by the news that Siem De Jong, Yoan Gouffran, Karl Darlow and Jamaal Lascelles all got through the game unscathed after banking 90 minutes to keep on top of match fitness.
