Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew will have scouts check on Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen tonight.

Pardew is a known admirer of Vertonghen and has stepped up his interest with Manchester City and Tottenham also expected to be watching at Old Trafford, says the Daily Mail.

Bayern Munich and Arsenal have been linked with the 24-year-old Belgian, who is keen on a move to the Premier League.
