Newcastle United are ready to launch a bid for Huddersfield Town striker Jordan Rhodes.
The Daily Mail says the 21-year-old, the son of former Dunfermline goalkeeper Andy Rhodes enhanced his growing reputation by scoring for Scotland Under 21s in their shock 2-1 win against Holland on Monday night.
And Rhodes, who made his debut for the senior side when he was given a late run-out in Scotland's 2-1 friendly win over Cyprus on Friday, has a £2m escape clause in his contract at League OneHuddersfield Town.
Celtic are also interested in Rhodes.
