Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce has been chasing prospective new signing Wesley Ngo Baheng for almost a year.

The Le Havre youngster is set to join Newcastle in January, but he could easily have signed for Allardyce's former club, Bolton Wanderers in the New Year when he had trials at the Reebok stadium.

Allardyce's personal touch has helped Newcastle see off competition from Chelsea to snap up the 18 year-old.
