According to reports from Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Newcastle United have beaten off competition in the race to sign Fabian Delph.

Delph is widely expected to be offloaded by Manchester City this summer following his unsuccessful two year spell at the Etihad Stadium.

And a host of clubs such as Stoke City, Burnley and West Bromwich Albion have all expressed an interest in signing the 27-year-old.

Newcastle United have also long been rumored to be keen on Delph and in an update, reports have claimed that the Magpies have now won the battle to secure the services of the former Aston Villa captain.
