Newcastle United will sell Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa to AS Roma in January.

The Frenchman joined Roma on a season-long loan in August with the option to sign permanently when he reaches 20 appearances.

Yanga-Mbiwa has now played 17 times for Roma and all signs are he'll reach the 20-game mark before February.< p> The defender can be signed permanently for a price of €7 million. Yanga-Mbiwa joined Newcastle in January 2013, but was restricted to just 37 appearances with the North East giants.
