Newcastle United are set to land Watford midfielder John-Joe O'Toole.

The Sun says the promising midfielder, 20, is set to join caretaker boss and fellow Irishman Joe Kinnear in a deal worth around £1million.

O'Toole is a crowd favourite at Vicarage Road after emerging from the youth team ranks.

He is only a year into his first professional contract but has already caught the eye of several Premier League clubs and broken into the Ireland Under-21 team.

O'Toole has scored seven goals in 12 games this season, but Watford need the cash.
