Andy Carroll is returning to Newcastle United from his loan at Preston - and is likely to be sent away again by Toon boss Sam Allardyce.

Allardyce said: "I think with the amount of strikers we've got, then he'll want to play first-team football as much as he can.

"He hasn't scored as many goals as we thought he would for Preston, but he has made a contribution and that experience is good for him."
