Newcastle United are watching Rennes striker Paul-Georges Ntep.
The Evening Chronicle says sources in France suggested United scouts were due to watch the play-off qualifier against Sweden, with Ntep one of the young French stars attracting attention.
The Rennes forward - along with Marseille's Florian Thauvin - have long been on the radar of the Magpies.
He would add pace to a forward line which has struggled to find the back of the net regularly.
