Newcastle Jets midfielder Ruben Zadkovich is eagerly anticipating a return bout with LA Galaxy superstar David Beckham.

The 24-year old took on the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder when the MLS club came out to take on Sydney FC, Zadkovich's old club, in 2007 and he cannot wait to do it all again.

"It was awesome," Zadkovich told the Newcastle Herald.

"The hype was incredible. Every time Beckham touched the ball there was a buzz around the ground.

"Then when he scored with that free kick the crowd went crazy.

"It would be brilliant for football in this region to have a quality player like him come and play here. It would also be a big occasion for the boys."

Sydney managed to win that match 5-3 in front of 80,000 fans at the Sydney Football Stadium and will this time make their way to EnergyAustralia Stadium where the Jets expect a sellout crowd on November 27.
