Newcastle's Tsattalios looking forward to fresh start

Nik Tsattalios is looking forward to a fresh start at a new club after being starved of opportunities at Sydney FC.

The 18-year old signed with the Newcastle Jets on a six-month contract where hopefully he will win a permanent contract with the club as they embark on an Asian Champions League journey.

"All the boys are looking forward to the Asian Champions League campaign. It's a fresh start for me and there's a lot of other new boys as well. We're looking good in training, working hard and hopefully the preparation puts us in good stead for the ACL," he told 442.

"I was coming off contract in June at Sydney and I had a call from the Jets and it worked out well. I've a six-month contract and I'll be looking to impress in the ACL and try to get a contract for the new A-League season. Hopefully I prove to Gary (van Egmond) that I can do a job in the A-League next season.

"I've got a good vibe," Tsattalios added.

"He even said to me 'we can make something out of you'. I trust him, I think he's a good coach and from the training I've had so far I think it's going to be good for my development here."
