Newcastle Jets signing Nikolai Topor-Stanley has been cleared of any serious damage to his knee.
The defender had fears that he may need reconstructive surgery to his anterior cruciate ligament but they have been allayed.
"He just has some swelling around his meniscus. He can start bike riding and swimming come Monday, and he's even saying he's still a chance for Pohang," Jets coach Gary van Egmond said.
"Realistically, he probably isn't, but it's good that he's thinking he wants to be part of it. At this point, he's an extremely slim chance of playing, but we'll see how his recuperative powers are."
