Newcastle's Tiote confident Ba will soon break dry run

Newcastle United's Cheick Tiote is supremely confident that teammate Demba Ba will soon end his barren scoring spell.

The Senegalese striker has failed to hit the back of the net in his last ten outings for the Toon but midfielder Tiote has complete faith in the former West Ham United man who has taken a back seat to countryman Papiss Cisse who has netted 11 times in 10 games since joining from Freiburg.

"For [Cisse], it is natural to score goals. It feels normal. As a striker, it is important to score those goals. If you don't, you start to worry, but he scores every game. It is good for the team, too," he told the Daily Mirror.

"It is unbelievable that Demba Ba has not scored recently. He played so well on Saturday and has been playing well. But if he keeps playing that he will score and he will score goals all the time."
