Newcastle's Taylor full of praise for fellow centre-half Coloccini

Newcastle United centre-half Steven Taylor has spoke highly of his defensive partner Fabricio Coloccini.

The Englishman and the Argentine have formed a part of the equal best defence in the Premier League this season, conceding just 11 goals in 12 matches (alongside Manchester City and Liverpool).

Taylor has been in the best form of his career and says a lot of that has to do with the assuredness of Magpies skipper Coloccini.

"I feel I'm playing well, and I've just got to continue that," Taylor told the Shields Gazette. "I'm playing alongside a very good centre-half in Coloccini. He's in his prime, and is a great leader.

"Day in, day out, I'm enjoying training and playing alongside him. I'm taking the advice he's giving me, which is very important. I love learning from someone who's played at the highest level for Argentina.

"For me, I'm just enjoying playing my football. It's an honour to play with the lads we've got now. It's a fantastic spirit we've got here."
