Newcastle's Petrovski proves doubters wrong again

Newcastle Jets striker Sasho Petrovski says he has again proved his doubters wrong after producing a brilliant goal in the Asian Champions League.

The Jets conjured a last-gasp victory over Beijing Guoan on Wednesday night to keep their hopes of qualifying for the next phase alive with Petrovski providing the equaliser that got them back in the match.

After missing a penalty in the match prior, Petrovski feels he has bounced back in the best possible fashion.

"I have to stand tall and be strong and that's what I've done," he said.

"I've proved people wrong a lot over the years. If people want to knock me then fine but I'm smiling because I'm doing better than ever.

"They can keep knocking me and I'll keep proving them wrong, I don't care either way what they say. I honestly didn't worry too much about the penalty miss.

"Some players might crumble a bit after that but I'm happy to stand up and take responsibility again and I've never doubted myself in any situation on a football pitch."
