Yohan Cabaye is starting to win his way back into the hearts of the Newcastle United faithful.
The French midfielder attempted to orchestrate a summer move to Arsenal but the transfer did not come about and he remained at St James' Park.
Maligned earlier in the season, Cabaye has returned to his deserved position as a key contributor in Alan Pardew's Magpies team which was highlighted by a wonderful goal after coming on as a half-time sub in Monday night's 3-2 loss at Everton.
Pardew praised Cabaye for his performance and suggested he will go back into the starting line-up next weekend after suffering a few niggling injuries.
"He's a class act. We had a long chat, me and him, yesterday about him starting and we both felt he wasn't quite right for 90 minutes," he told Sky Sports.
"He was terrific in the second half and he hasn't had any problems coming off, so he's an absolute banker for Cardiff.
"That's what I'm looking at. We need that sort of performance, that kind of 90 minutes he gives me with the quality."
